Should i even try NR2002 online?

I have a 56k modem and live in the middle of nowhere so i have no high speed
options.  Will racing NR2002 online be worthwhile or will i have too much
lag and latency.

A couple of guys in our league are on 56k, and they haven't had any
complaints thus far, after 10 or so races. I'd say give it a shot, but it
will depend on the host server you connect to as well.

It depends on your ISP.  My normal service was showing ping rates at
anywhere from 250 to 550 while in a race.  Needless to say, when I saw my
pings that high I got out of the race ASAP before I caused any problems for
any of the other drivers.

I subscribed to Earthlink and now my pings are 120 to 150.  The main problem
with my normal service was where it connected to the UUNET pipeline.  I live
in southwest Washington State, and race with an online league in the Seattle
area.  With my old ISP, I would connect to the internet, and it's router
system would send my signal down to Sacramento to connect to the pipeline.
Then it would have to travel back up past me to get to the Seattle race
server.

Earthlink goes direct to Seattle race server from my sign on point in
southwest Washington.  LOT faster!

Quality is more important that the ping.  If you get 97-100 quality then
even a ping of 300-400 should be fine.
Even people on cable with low pings can have ad warp.

Yep...and the quality of my signal went up substantially too.
