Itchy Eject-Button Trigger Fingers.

It's out of control already.  People are ejecting racers just because they
don't like the line they race, don't agree with who caused what, or any
other lame reason they can think of.

It's happened to me once just because I asked a guy why he put his brakes on
at the start!

I'm seeing people kicked out left and right for no reason whatsoever.

Papyrus, nice idea, but you need to pull those eject privilages.  Too many
kids and non-grownups online :(

We saw people abuse it in the past and it is still going on and will get
worse. I got ejected for running 3 mph faster than the rest of the field
after my qual. run. What a joke.

Was that you talking to John Simmons and me the other night?  Ejected AND
banned?

I wouldn't worry about it.  Once the novelty wears off it won't happen
as often.  Plus any new game has servers run by morons for the first few
months, after that they lose interest and go mess up some other game.
FPS games have had the ability to kick people for years, but the only
time it gets abused is by newbies who think they know how to run a
server but don't.  And like I said, those guys don't stick around for
very long.

Solution?  Race leagues and don't play with small fry kids online.

Solved.

Not quite.  The league servers usually have higher ratings.  I realize this
isn't the particular issue you're referring to.  But, how do you race in a
league to raise your driver's rating when the league server has a 4-10 rating,
and you only have a 1 rating...?

If you in a "league" the rating is usually not set.... There is no such thing as a "league server" for pickup racing......

So if you race in a league, you STILL can't raise your rating(because the race
isn't rated).  Sounds like a catch-22.  I've seen some un-passworded servers
that require a 3 or 4 minimum rating to join.  I'm guessing that the races are
clean(er), because of the higher rated drivers.  I'm in 4 GPL leagues right
now.  I don't think I could run in a Nascar league too, but I'd like to be able
to run online without having to deal with *** wreckers...

Why cant you raise your rating while running a league race?? That would be your best case Scenerio!! Long green flag runs, guys with
different skill levels etc..... Just the long greens for LPI is a huge bonus. If you in 4 GPL leagues then it seems Nascar isnt that
important  to you anyways :)

Can't speak for other leagues, but flashpoint.com servers are rated.
I run in OSCAR using a league-only username and my ratings are
accumulating nicely.

If the league race isn't rated, it won't affect your ratings(good or bad).
And, I was in the GPL leagues before N2002 even came OUT...<g>
