N3 Tracks limit?

by Mike Garriso » Wed, 06 Oct 1999 04:00:00

In N3, I have been importing tracks (the truck tracks from N99) .... I have
had as many as 45 total tracks physically in my N3 tracks folder without a
problem..... The problems arise when editing the "all.cal"
I have edited the calender for adding the tracks one at a time and once I
get 40 tracks listed in the "all.cal" I believe thats the limit...
Once you make the last line read "42 12 99 0 0 XXXXXXXX" the game won't
start... it just returns to the desktop after the movie...
IS anyone else experiencing this or is there a way around it? With my
experiences, I don't think there is, since the all.cal lists the possible
tracks for the other calenders to read from....Any input would be
appreciated :-)

N3 Tracks limit?

I am having the same problem. As soon as I reach 41 tracks, the game doesn't
load any more. A small workaround I am using is to, let on the all.cal, when
a track has a day and night version, just one of them (normally Bristol,
Lowes and Daytona). At least I can have an extra three tracks in the
calendar. I am loading not just the Trucks tracks, but also Laguna Seca and
Cleveland.

Have you found another solution?

Regards,

Roberto

You can get Daytona from http://members.xoom.com/RACELANE99/

It is a N99 track, but works great on N3. You just need the track pictures.
A good one came from http://www.theuspits.com, on the Stockcar/Utilities
page.

Gary, from Racelane, is already working on a N3 Daytona, with the lights and
flagman. It will take probably a couple of weeks to be finished.

Nice racing,

Brian
ps: Another solution I am using to the tracks limit is, using a hex editor,
change on the N3 exe the two accurences of all.cal to something else (like
al1.cal). Give the exe a new name. Now, depending with exe you use to start
the race, you will have a different set of races.
