I have a P-133 (overclocked 180), 80 mb ram, 1mb Trident Svga, 24X cd-rom, 3
hardrives.

I must get a rendition card for ICR2.
People say the Hercules 8mb Thriller V2200 is a good card. Could you please
tell me more about this. I also heard that Hercules is making a new card with
rendition v2200 and 3dfx in it. Is it tru? Also any word on V3300. Please give
me some ideas. Thanx folks.

v2200 + 3Dfx - NO! v3300 almost 100% NO! Bad news, I was also counting on
v3300.

The Hercules V2200 is a good card. I have the 8mb pci version, and love it.
I have not heard anything about them making a card with 3dfx included in it
also.
The V3300 chip has been put on hold by Micron, maybe to be skipped.
Be aware, with any V2200 rendition chip card you will need to probably get a
patch to get it to run ICR2, which is available at some of the major sites.

Someone sent me the patch, but it's just sitting on my hardrive waiting for me
to get a rendition card. I guess I'll go with the Hercules 8mb PCI Thriller.
Everybody seems to love em. Now I have a 1mb Trident Svga Card. Will both cards
work toegther or will I have to get rid of the old one?
thanx

If you want it strictly for N2, ICR2, GPL, sure.  But I would otherwise not
recommend a technological dead end (though it does D3D well enough on a fairly
low end machine).  But considering that the Stealth220's (renition v2100,
4MB) are around $30 or so now, I wouldn't want to pay $100+ for a Thriller.

Are you serious?!

No, you'll have to dump the Trident.  No great loss.

I suggest looking for a used 8MB Thriller which will provide 2D/3D
support and if you have other games that don't support the Thriller then
look into getting a used VooDoo I card as the VooDoo II card requires a
faster CPU to get a performance improvement.  I have a Thriller and a
Canopus Pure3D Voodoo I card and the combo works pretty well.  GPL works
great on the Thriller and Unreal works pretty well on the Pure3D.  Note
this will take 2 PCI slots or 1 AGP, 1 PCI depending on whether you get
the PCI or AGP Thriller.

One other thing, if you get the cards mentioned, check the manufactures
web sites for driver updates.
