Logitech FF developing center slack

I purchased my formula force back in november, and with an hour or so of use
per day, it is finally starting to develop some slack in the cable, right in
the center of it's axis.  Right now it's really no big deal, and usually
only noticable in the small straightaway corrections.  Just curious if
anyone else out there who's had their logitech, or any other cable wheel for
that matter, for longer than I has experienced any breakages as yet?

Hi Brian,

In this case we can safely say it's the nut behind the wheel that's causing the
problem :-)

I found a post on the I Force site which dealt with this issue. On some of the
wheels, the nut which holds the wheel on (under the plastic cover in the center
of the wheel) will loosen slightly, causing a bit of slack. Pry off the center
cover (use very small jewelers screwdrivers), bend down the locking tabs on the
nut and tighten it SLIGHTLY. There is a circuit board under the nut which you
do not want to crack. Bend the locking tabs back into place, pop the cover back
on and go racin'!
