I tried the settings recomended up below, but I ended up with some major
kicking back and forth from my MOMO.

My first question is when you say to set the steering axis to 50% which
setting are you talking about, The rate or the sensitivity?

My second question any ideas on whats causing this with my wheel? Even with
FF on low it bucks like a Rodeo Bronc and puts me in the wall ASAP. Its kind
of like the wheel is real tight in the center but as soon as I move it of it
frees up and takes off.

The 50% refers to the AXIS settings.  In the controller section,
click on the first joystick icon.  Usually the X axis is the steering.
Choose the slider that coresponds to that axis and move it to 50%.    The
speed sensitivity, which is on the first controller screen(IF I remember
correctly) should be set to zero.  {if you set the steering axis to zero you
probably wouldn't have any steering at all}

in the controllers section are icons for the keyboard, joystick 1,
joystick 2, & a 3rd joystick Icon.  This is the Force Feedback section.  In
there is a slider for setting your FF effects & two drop down menus for
wheel/joystick and the amount of FF effects.  I choose not to get the Full
effects but rather just High.  And the slider must be in the NEGATIVE(left
of center) section(for MOMO wheels).  I have my FF slider about -45 to -60.
Anymore and the wheel lurches from overstrong FF movements.  With those
settings the Wheel holds the front wheels wonderfully.  I can carve a turn
like the Curve Grande at Monza and feel the front tires holding the road.

Well thats what I thought, but what are the settings on the tab that looks
like a arrow pointing down to a hockey puck for?  The steering on mine is
set to 25% and to be honest at this point I can't tell a differance when
adjusting it.

As far as the FF goes actually uping the overall setting to high (I had mine
on low) helped a little, but its still not very good. Did you edit any of
the values in the *.plr file?

I believe those are the digital controller rates, which are only used
for keyboards and gamepads.

I think the overall setting only affects effects level (curbs,
vibration, etc.).  The strength of the steering feedback is controlled
by the slider.  You can do better with manual editing, but I'm hesitant
to make any recommendations since everybody seems to like it a little
different.

Do you mean the Axis sensitivity?  When I set it up 50%, it gets
really twitchy on me.  I set the speed sensitivity to zero.

Yes set the X axis on controller 1 to 50%.(IF that is the controller axis
assigned to your wheel)  THEN in your individual setups....lower the
steering lock from usually around 20 degrees to 12 degrees.  That should
take care of the twitchyness.  You will have a little difficulty getting out
of the pits at certain tracks...(that's what they made reverse gear for)

Thats what I was thinking since I couldn't feel achange when playing with
them.

At this point I'm just trying to figure out were this bucking is coming from
at this point in time. Guess I'll go back to the original settings and
change on at a time till I find the one that "did" it.

No, the "Speed Sensitivity" slider is located in there...it has a major
effect on wheel handling.  Default is 75% and it really should be on 0% for
a wheel.

Yeah, 50% (or full linear) might be a bit twitchy for some wheels.   Try 25%
or lower and make sure the steering lock in your car setup isn't any higher
than it needs to be to take the corners properly.

I get the LURCHING motion from time to time when the FF effects are turned
up to high.  Basically it is a trial and error to run some laps, tune DOWN
the FF slider, then run some more until the lurch goes away.  I have so many
dang mods on right now, one is still kinda heavy on the steering which seems
to invite the lurching motion.  Someday I'm gonna have to sit down and clean
up my installs...get all the tracks setup properly etc.  I've been dloading,
testing, and moving on to the next 'OOOH LOOK-AT-THAT'
so I'd better get sensible and clean everything up.

Actually turning up the effects from low to high helped it some. At this
point I'm not really sure what the rot cause is, but adjusting the -100 to
100 strength slider effects it, but its still there. Its funny as hell
watching the drivers head smack back and forth. Reminds me of when a top
fuel dragster goes into to tire shake.

Whoops, forgot about that one.  The other settings on that screen are
for digital controllers though.
