Oh boy, you hit another homerun! Where is there any mention of 3DO?
He was talking about N2 (a PC game). DUH!!!

He was talking about the 3DO files, not the 3DO systems. 3DO files are
part of the track files.

Good job on N2.  Hmmm, you can edit 3DO files? I worship you Eric. Show
me how!

Greg, Greg, Greg....Take it easy, m'boy!!!  He's talking about the 3DO
files used in NASCAR 2 to run and create the pace car physics.  I know,
I know, there's a "console" out there called the 3DO, but that's not
what he's talking about here....

The 3do is the geometry of the model. (So there is no real sense in
trying to reverse engineer it, as there are too many things that you
don't know about to easily change the car's shape, and have it still
work with the damaged pieces.)

MIP files contain the textures (i.e. the paint jobs); if someone were
inclined to put their mind to it, the format of a MIP file could
probably be reverse engineered... The format is not publicized.

Someone has already done this.  WatGlen and SearsPt were "repainted"
with new banners and object textures.  ITCC (Internet TouringCar
Championship) used them for a race each.  I'm not sure who did the
repainting, but look around the net for

Autodromo del Mugello,
Scarperia, Firenze, Italy
and
Mantorp Park
Mantorp Park, Sweden

These were the tracks that we tried to repaint them after.

The MIP, PMP, STP files have long since been hacked...Thanks to the
cleverness of a friend, I've been paintin' walls for over a year.  ;)
