GP3 Can't wait, cant sleep, must have..

by Bertel Bolt-J?rgense » Wed, 26 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Well once again I just have to tell somebody how much I love this game.
Can't wait to get the real release though since the beta/warez is a
bug-fest, or at least have funny features attached to it. The savegame is
hopeless. I just saved a game after quali and have to start at the back of
the grid even though the result states that i have got pole. The rest of the
field are scrampled with no regards to their quali-times. apparently it
defaults to quickrace, when you save. Well i am not complaining, must be due
to the beta-state of the game. Another bug though which is more serious is
the speed with which i am driving. Just to damn slow. Well heck I can't
blame the game for me being bad at racing even though weird statements about
GP3 seem to be the order of the day.
Stop ***ing, buy the game and start racing.
remember to read the warez nfo and do as it says:"If you like the game go
buy it".

I also think the warez is the final.  I hope no one is expecting massive
improvements.

Naw, this simply looks like another GP2 non-modified feature.  It's the same
as if you per example save a hotlap, and watch the other cars.  You will see
each time a different behaviors by the AI.  The Savegames don't seem to save
at all what the AI has done.

Unbelievable how some people know very little.  The ones that think the retail
will be total different from the warez version should seek some very serious
help.

The save game files were very small in GP2 though, just over
30kb if I remember.  Good for turn at a time races via e-mail.

Yep you're right. Otoh, maybe Crammond has a good (and extremely
calculating) sense of humor.

Well that explains why this whole situation is totally hilarious.

Stop your ***ing complaining.  If you hate the game so much, stop
writing shit about it.  You are the complete utter moron.  If someone
likes it, let them like it.  We dont tell you what to ***ing like, so

Ummm, yeah, why race 20 guys online when you can do that?

For that matter, why not chuck the PC and use pencil, paper, and
the postal service?  ;)

The warez version of GP3 ****IS**** the final version that you will be
wasting your money on. The warez version was put together on July 13th
from the last version of the game before it went out to production, so
the one you buy is going to be exactly the same game as you have now.
And if they ever put out any patches (which seems unlikely given their
track record) there will likely be very minimal improvements, so the
game is and will always be "buggy".

Also, even if the warez version wasn't the final version (and it is)
it would still have to have been taken from a very recent version of
the game, and since it's taken years to come up with what's there now
how much improvement do you think they'd manage to add to it in a few
weeks? not ***y much is the answer.

Either way the game is a huge dissapiontment, i'll keep the warez on
my machine long enough to see what the new carsets look like when
people start cranking them out, but i'll never buy it. And i for one
don't buy into the "the more you play it the more it grows on you"
theory, because all that's saying is that after playing it for long
lengths of time people just get used to the crappy graphics and lame
physics and are just settling for mediocrity, probably falling into a
semi concious state where they think they're back in 1996!. Hell, i
could pop in an old Nintendo racing game from 1989 and play it for
hours and probably have some fun, but as soon as i turned on my pc and
played any real racing sim i'd get hit with a hard dose of reality.
All you guys who have been saying how great the GP3 is after playing
for a long time try this - play GP3 for half an hour, then shut it
down, and play GPL or SCGT or F12000 or F1RS etc.. and then tell me
how great GP3 is, if you do that and still think GP3 is a great racing
sim i demand to know what *** you are taking.
