Yep.  Had to upgrade for a league.  Apparently you missed my reply to your
note about Saturday's race, where I mentioned it.  Will we be using 2.2
Saturday?  Also, which setup, the fast or the eleblanc setup?

Still no damage model or correct physics.  Pity.

I'll have to check with Mitch and see if our server will have 2.2 installed.
We'll be using the fast setup. Any idea what the changes were for 2.2?

It does have damage(just don' crowd a Mustang based car, the invisible
damage bubble extends past that carshape since it's the shortest one.)..and
until somebody cracks the .exe file, the physics are courtesy of Papyrus.

Tweeks that improve 2.1.  Especially in the LOD area so that framerate
should improve.  The readme has a small list of improvements

2.2 - bug fixes for v2.0, full LoDs for 3do shapes, mfr wheels, 3do fixes,
individual shiny mips

again, the LOD work is the update here.  2.2 installs as a patch, not a
full new mod install.

Lots of LoD optimization.  I didn't really have framerate problems
before, but I'm seeing a pretty nice boost across the board, even in
testing sessions.  LoD levels with multiple cars aren't noticable and
the in-car view still has reflections on the***pit surface and
gauges so it seems pretty transparent other than the framerate
increase.

Someone mentioned it fixed the problem with not being able to see the
warning lights in the***pit, but I still find they're nearly
impossible to see under most lighting conditions.

I don't think the server needs to have 2.2 installed for the clients to
be able to use it. It is fully compatible with 2.1 in every aspect for
all I know.

Hmm, really ?  Been smacking into things to test it out with the new
release, nothing.  And until somebody cracks the exe file, we don't have
anything close to TA racing(and I wasn't blaming the modders, just stating a
fact)

There's no visible damage

The exe was cracked long time ago, not saying we know everything there
is to know about it, but until there's an anti cheat tool in place,
we're not going to release stuff to the public

It does however have some important fixes, like the LoD's mentioned and
some***pit adjustments that also help boost the frame rate, some bug
fixes and different wheel shapes for the different cars

Beers and cheers

Compatible perhaps, but won't the server get upset if the client has
different files than it does?

That's what I'm wondering myself.  I've downloaded it, but have yet to
install it until someone relates that it is transparent to the server.

Interesting, thanks(about the exe file).  Of course, doesn't matter what
tool you put in place, someone will crack that anyway <g>  How about ride
height changes, no grill tape, and realistic TA setup options vs what is
currently available, any news on that ?
