you needed anyway, but if you didn't...
You can run anything version 2+ and it is compatible with each other. The numbering scheme I designed that way for a reason.
Minor number changes (2.0, 2.1, 2.2) will all run with each other. Major number changes (1.3, 2.0) will not. We will actually
have a 2.3 out in a week or so with a few more tweeks on the 3do shells, some more things that we found at the last minute.
We'll supply it as a patch (as 2.2 was) and then make the full download at 2.3 if there are no more problems.
The next major change will of course be our final LoD/FPS tweaks and full damage. We are currently making good progress on
that, but do not have a timeframe as to when it will be done.
Some people commented that they got worse FPS with v2.2 than with v2.1. I find that highly unlikely (although as with anything
on computers, probably not impossible) and that they most likely had something else wrong with their installation, or went to a
track that had higher fps than what they originally tested with. It would be almost impossible to not gain FPS with v2.2, as it
has probably a good 200 less polys at closeup distances, and at long distances it has 500-600 less polys per vehicle.
Cheers!
