I can then look at driver info and it has TPTCC car.  But;

If I try to select single race the TPTCC tracks aren't in the list.
If I try to select season it will let me pick new and name the new season.
On the season option screen there are several options not selected (e.g.
simulation vs. arcade).  There is not a selection to continue or race.
There aren't any tracks in the event list.  Some operations crash to the
desktop.  (e.g. opponents).  Attempt to do new season will allow a name and
then crash to desktop.

I have a few extra tracks (like 3-4) but no other mods.

Running XP pro.  Geforce 4600 video.

Has anybody seen something similar?

   No but if you can't see any tracks then something went wrong with your
install of the mod.  You should see ALL the tracks, the MODS all share the
same track folder as the default Cup cars.  So if the mod is missing tracks
something must have gone amiss.  
   double-check and see if the Cup cars are working ok, with all the tracks
visible and able to be used.
   No championship will work if the tracks are kaput so figure that out
before attempting to run a season.
