Nonsense, or do you really believe there are NO negative sides to
the US, politically, socially or ethically? I lived in the States
for 3 years, and I experienced them. OTOH, I know ALL the negative
sides of my home country, too.

Everytime I hear someone say: My country is the BEST, I just take
it as "wishful thinking"...and definitly not a knowledge based on
facts and own experience.

Not nonsense.. it's true.. the US of A is the greatest country on the
planet.  No one said "a country without faults" or "a country without
more faults than some others."

It is THE GREATEST.  Simple.  Let's move on. :)

Euro-court outlaws criticism of EU
By Ambrose Evans-Pritchard in Brussels
THE European Court of Justice ruled yesterday that the European Union can
lawfully suppress political criticism of its institutions and of leading
figures, sweeping aside English Common Law and 50 years of European
precedents on civil liberties.

Sounds like a wonderful place to not be.

If you mean reading the Telegraph on issues involving the EU (and expecting
truth/coherent reporting), then yes, you are indeed correct.

What's wrong with you? Don't you read the news? We shoot our own children
here.

The reason there seem to be so many under-par american drivers is simple.
There are so many americans, and every one is too stupid to keep the bad
news about their IQ's to themselves. Unlike the chinks, ewes, and ozzies,
who seem to have too much self respect to appraise themselves publicly.

Mike.

But at least the rocks blow up once in a while to keep things interesting.
Especially for the sheep standing on them at the time.

On the other hand England no longer has lions and 1000 lb.  carnivorous
bears roaming around peoples back yards.

There are huge areas of the US that still actually do, in esentially urban
settings. Believe it or not.

I have always stated the the term " freedom" is entirely relative to just
what it is you wish to be free to do.

If you wish to smoke a joint with a ***, male or female,  Holland is
certainly a freer and better place than the US.

I think the fact that our freedoms are a basic foundation of our
constitution, guaranteed by the bill of rights, and embedded in all law is
just a little more important than "smoking joints with ***s".
