Dega tri last lap

Dega tri last lap

To all hawaii participants.
I would like to know peoples thoughts on the last
lap of a race at talladega. I have been in quite
a few battles on the last lap in the tri-oval
and it always ends in a wreck with both sliding
across the finish line. I never try to pass in the tri
untill the last lap . sometimes i get cussed when
theres a wreck and sometime people say it was
a killer finish. I think the last lap is fair game for a
pass. if the concensous is the opposite of what i
think, i will start following people across the line and
finish a position back. Thanks for your input.

Some of the unwritten rules do go by the wayside on the last lap. However, if
as you say the last lap "always ends in a wreck" then you should attempt to
pass earlier. There is room for a clean pass at the tri, but you need to start
much earlier. If the leader is blocking instead of racing his line, then I
would say you have no choice. If you were in front of me heading towards the
tri, I could easily send you (and probably I) spinning. Is this good racing? I
think not! Hopefully Nascar2 will allow for racing more then one line through
the tri, until then its dangerous and usually disasterous.

Wally you sound very smart to me, you wait until the last lap to make a
pass, that patience, and patience will get you a real high skill level,
and win you championships.  Keep doing what you are doing

ATTENTION: DRIVERS WHO THINK IT IS OKAY TO PASS IN THE TRI JUST BECAUSE IT IS THE LAST LAP:

Please do us all a favor and pass in the tri as soon as you can.  Therefore we can get the wreck over with
sooner, loose our points sooner, get the cussing done sooner and get the hell out of that race sooner which is
costing real money.  You morons, you think it's okay to cheat somebody out of a win as long as it's on the
last lap.  GET OFF HAWAII !!!!!!!-----  FLUNKIES!!!!!!!  Tell me, is it ok to write a hot check at the grocery
store just because it's your last visit there?  You would think so I'm sure.

Sell your PC and buy some flash cards!

Um Cole... did mommy forget to give you your medication this morning?  I
think you need to relax a little =)

It is quite possible to pass in the tri-oval if you know what you're doing.
I myself have successfully run three wide there, but that was with two
other drivers who also knew how to make it through.  You obviously are
running in pickup races where the object is to win at all costs, not racing
safely and win.  What makes you think I should just sit back in second
place and give you the win?  I'm going to try and pass you each and
everytime I feel I can make it without putting either of us at risk if the
win is that important.

Another way to look at it is imagine if the tri-oval was just like the rest
of the track.  On a properly designed track if he was in a position to make
a pass and wreck you, you would be in no position for the victory anyway.
The second place car would be able to use the draft and slingshot around
you.  If a wreck happens just suck it up as just one of those racing deals.

I have passed at the tri THREE WIDE and no one crashed!

Some times its better to give up the line to the faster car than it is to -JUST HOLD
YOUR LINE-. -AND- Some times it's better to come in second and ADD points to your skill
level than it is to crash, come in last, and LOOSE skill points.

Tell me, is it ok to walk through a field between a hunter pulling the triger and the
deer he is shooting at?
