RASCAR: TeamSpeak For Nosiring Race

by Larr » Mon, 02 Feb 2004 01:07:19

I posted this on the forum a few minutes ago...

All,

Our normal TeamSpeak is still down.  What IS the deal with that ?

Anyway, I have come up with an alternate plan.  I know this works because we
used it at Mitch's practice race this week.  Here is what you need to do:

1.  Before the race, go to www.teamspeak.org.
2.  On the right side of the page, click on the link that says:
     "Public Server -3-"
3.  This should open TeamSpeak on your system and connect to server 3.
4.  Look for a channel called RASCAR
5.  Join that channel.  The password will be 'ras'.

Attached to this message is a zip file containing desktop links to all three
servers that will connect you to the server without having to go to the
www.teamspeak.org page.  Join the RASCAR channel as indicated above.

If for some reason server 3 is not working, I will move down to server 2.
Then server 1.  I see no problem with server 3, but just thinking ahead.
ONE of them will have RASCAR on it.

Bear in mind, I have NO idea how much of my system bandwidth this uses, if
any.  If I see it causing any issues on my connection, I will have to cut it
off.

PLEASE ensure you log in during the practice race at 3pm so we can test this
before the main :)

Enjoy!

RASCAR: TeamSpeak For Nosiring Race

by McWho » Mon, 02 Feb 2004 01:15:20

I was checking things out this morning to make sure I was prepared to make a
test session this afternoon.  I have loaded team speak and joined the server
listed in the rascar forum using IP address and password posted in thread
"Teamspeak now up" .
I connected to the server ok,  server is named RASCAR, which came up as the
default server name.  I am able to use this chat.
Looking at the chat now I see that ZZ joined and quit the server just a few
minutes ago.  Wish I had seen this sooner but just finished some chores and
sat down.

Good, because EVERY PUBLIC TeamSpeak server is full.  Sheesh!  Even when you
plan it all goes to shit :)
