That's very odd indeed!
I've tried to replicate your situation but without (thankfull;y!) any success.........I can rename the archive, no problem at all.

See, that's what I thought, but that ain't doing the trick. I'm renaming it core.ini, and it's calling itself core.ini.SAMPLE. It's listed as an archive file, but I've tried various properties, with the same result...

Firstly, Colin, ensure that it is read-write enabled.
Then simply remove the last "dot" and the word "sample".
Then save the file.

As referred to in a previous post, my core.ini is a SAMPLE file, not an .ini file. How do I make it an .ini file, and thus enabling FF? A simple right-click and rename wouldn't do it...
