F1RS Help!

Hello!

I have a few questions I'd like to ask about the operation of F1 Racing
Simulation.  Any insight you can give me would be much appreciated.

First, there are two options that don't appear to be working:

1. Auto-guide into the pits - it is set to 'no', but I am not in control
of the car when driving in the pits

2. Rules - all set to 'yes'.  I haven't checked them all, but the 'false
start' rule is definitely not working because I can't even get the car in
gear until the red lights go off!  (except once at Spa, but I have no
idea why!)

What am I missing here?  The options are all clearly set as I want them,
but they are having no effect.  Do they rely on other settings for some
reason?

I am running with these settings:
Game type: Realistic
Level: Expert
Mode: Grand Prix,100% race distance
US program version 1.08

Finally, what is the 'Steering Limit' setting in the Configure->Controls-

Thanks in advance

I think that F1RS just never gives you full control over entering and
exiting the pits, so far as I can tell.
The switch for control just lets you modify your top speed coming in and
out... driving is taken over
by the computer. Can anyone clarify this?

Have you noticed that the pit crews flashes in and out as they work on your
car? Strange...

As for jumping the gun at the start of the race, try turning off
auto-shifting. If you have that option
set, you can't jump the gun, because the computer won't shift you into 1st
until after the black
lights appear.

Well, I've managed to figure out the false start thing - you CAN shift
into gear but only once ALL of the red lights are on!

If you are right about the pit stop control, I'm kind of disappointed.
One of the things I like about Papyrus sims is that you can mess up your
pit stop.

I haven't seen the flashing pit-crew problem however I do have a really
annoying bug where all of the textures suddenly turn to garbage while I'm
driving - after that, no 3DFX or Direct3D program runs properly and I
have to switch the machine off for at least 30 mins before the problem
clears!
