Hi all,
I am currently working on a majot project and for it I require a
fairly accurate physics model for a car (i.e. traction, skidding etc).  I
was wondering if this information was available on the internet, or if
there are any books on the subject that I should be looking into.

        Thanks in advance,
                        Gordon

Hi,

These are the books that I have read about this subject,

as an introduction to vehicle dynamics

Fundamentals of vehicle dynamics
Gillespie, Thomas D
Published 1992

this book has lots of information on race cars

Race Car Vehicle Dynamics
William F. Milliken and Douglas L. Milliken
Published 1995

However it should be out before GP3)
