Is it possible to stop the repair work being done on your car before its
complete in n3 so that you don't get a lap down.

I believe if you hit F9, then enter, so it reads don't fix damage, the crew
will stop working on it after a few seconds.

Make sure the F9 screen is up then hit return and they will let you
go!

Yes, when you have the F9 screen up, hit ENTER so it Switches over to Don't
Repair Damage, after a few seconds your crew should let you go.
By the way, its in the manual :-)
