Is it just me or is the sound really ***in F1RS2? I've got a SBLive with 4
point surround and my mate has a PCI64 with Dolby Surround. Both our sounds
are about the same. Lousy. Anyone else care to comment :0)

I agree with you, doesn't sound F1, but someone mentioned that it is really
what an F1 engine sound to the driver with their helmet and earplugs on...who
knows...

It's not just you, the sound in F1RS2 really is crap..  Someone mentioned
this us really what you hear inside the car w/helmet and ear plugs etc.;
that's ***too.  I can assure you that engine and shifting sounds of the
real thing are very different than in F1RS2..   Some of the sound effects
are so ridiculous, I broke out in laughter the first time I heard them..

For good F1 engine sound, try Microprose GP2.  They even got the off
throttle 'burbbles' right.

Haven't tried F1RS2.  I didn't really mind the sound per se in F1RS.  But what
I didn't like was the on/off nature of it.  Back off the throttle and it
sounded like your revs instantly dropped to idle.  From the demo of "2" seems
like they fixed that?  I can't say for sure as 9 of 10 times I get no sound
with the demo (Montego problem?).

As to the real sound, I went to the Canada GP this year.  I loved the sound!
When I first heard it, I had this sh*t-eating grin and felt like a kid again.
They sounded like my dear-departed Honda Intercepter at 12K rpm, except
another 4K higher and 10x as LOUD!  :-)

I guess it's what you are used to.  If you grew up hearing v8's racing, I
guess it might not sound as impressive.  OTOH, I loved it.  They even sell
CD's of the cars noise (no, I'm not that crazy...).  Damn, I knew I should
have bought a GSR...

Send me the sounds in .wav format. I think I could do something.
