Nascar 3 - AWESOME!

I just paid way too much for this game($80.00 Can) but damn is it worth
it. I just installed a Monster MX300 soundcard in my system too and I feel
like I am actually driving at the races. All I need now is an ACTLABS Force
wheel and let the divorce proceedings begin, cause I just won't have any
time to spare for my wife.
I am so pleased with this game that I am going to beg Papy to make a CART
and/or F1 simulation like N3.

It's nice to see a complete upgrade to an already good series.

In N3 I am having a hard time holding a straight line,
even going straight on the pace lap!  I never had this
problem with N2.  There is a large "dead zone" with my
wheel (TM Sprint) in the center. I can move it about 2 inches
to the right or left and it won't move, then as you get into the
"active" area, it jumps in that direction.  I tried meesing with the
wheel lock, but that doesnt do anything to the "dead zone".
I am using the DirectX driver. Can someone help please?

The papyrus driver did the trick for me.
No more jerkiness :)

yes....much smoother with the papyrus driver.
Any idea on why the direct X driver is so jerky?

I have a different problem. My joystick works in N3, but the controls
are reversed? To turn left, I have to move the joystick to the right.
It gets confusing in the middle of a race with 10 cars around me. I
calibrate it before racing and that seems to go okay, but it's
reversed in the game. Any ideas?

Hold the joystick upside down.  :)

I had this problem with my wheel, it would calibrate correctly(as far as
direction) but would steer opposite.  I finally fixed it by selecting
something else to steer with(set it to the keyboard), then change it back.
Hope it fixes your problem...
