Thrustmaster T2 - Has anyone seperated the pedals ?

by Ed Reynol » Sun, 16 Mar 1997 04:00:00

After months of owning my T2 (which I like), I've always wished that the brake
pedal was mounted in the far left position.  Has anyone done this?

I just bought mine today and I wish the same thing!

I haven't had occasion to take apart my T2's yet, but with the T1, it
would be a simple enough matter, but you'd have to extend the wires.
(Fairly easy, provided you've got a soldering iron.) I can't imagine
it's really any more complicated on the T2. (At least the T2 has
screws instead of rivets to drill out...)

Or you could just flip the rollers around (at least on the T1) and that
was real easy.

The newest T2 will be more difficult to do since the brackets that holds
the pedal are mount built-in on pedal plate.

I actually add a clutch to mine (used for GP2) and you can at least view
on how to do it on my website ( In your case, you have to buy a new set
of pedal assy and then procede with your modification).

I have included on that page an IMAGE illustrating where to drill the holes
exactly to install your new set of pedal.

If your not a GP2 racing fan just go directly to
http://infoweb.magi.com/~ericcote/t2&clutch.html

If you like GP2 go at http://infoweb.magi.com/~ericcote/gp2menu.html
you'll find numerous valuable information on setups &more...

have fun, Eric

Open the thing up from the bottom plastic plate and take a look.
It seems to be a daunting task: You have to cut metal and extend
all the wires. :(
