As soon as the West brothers are done with it. ;)

Its already out at various places but not yet officially from Sierra.

My guess is that the Sierra.com race scheduler is not ready yet. A new
column will need to be added to indicate which series the race is for:
cup, gns, cts, t/a (I'm guessing a single letter column.
C=cup,G=gns,T=trucks,A=t/a)
Until 1.1.0.2, every race you saw on sierra.com was a cup race.
After the 1.1.0.2 patch & Project Wildfire, some races will be cup and
others will be gns. (in the future, NASCAR trucks and TransAm cars)
The 1.1.0.0 patch that was leaked (patch 7) was prior to the Project
Wildfire addition and it worked fine with the old Sierra.com race scheduler.
In fact, if you were logged in using 1.0.0.0, you only saw 1.0.0.0 servers.
If you were logged in using 1.1.0.0, you only saw 1.1.0.0 servers. The chat
was combined. The letters they used for the new *** modes were not the
exact ones I would have used based on the corresponding GUI choices on the
server end; but it worked. (I would have used D=Driving Aids, V=Visual
Aids, B=Both. They used A=? for something, I do not remember exactly which
one.)
With 1.1.0.2 and the Project Wildfire extensions, a change is required to
the sierra.com race scheduler. For the first time the server will support
the gns series.
The sierra.com folks are gonna need a race scheduler that supports the
shrink wrapped 1.0.0.0 customers as well as the patched 1.1.0.2 customers.
Including the Project Wildfire gns series.
I'm not sure Papyrus includes this effort when they say they are through
with the patch. Otherwise, I cannot understand why sierra.com is not
supporting the 1.1.0.2 patch since the patch is finished.
This could be a big deal. When you try 1.1.0.2 multiplayer now for a IP
race, if the host you try to join is gns and your active series is cup, then
you get an error message telling you to switch to the proper active series.
You have to exit mulitplayer, switch your active series, then restart
multiplayer and then join the IP race that matches your active series. We
don't want that kind of solution for the sierra.com race scheduler. We want
our active series to change to the proper one automatically depending on
which race we try to join. Why isn't multiplayer for IP races working like
that? This makes me worry that this part might not be written yet either?
But Papyrus insists that patch 1.1.0.2 is finished. Without project
wildfire, maybe it is. With the additional series matchup that Project
Wildfire and the gns series adds, maybe 1.1.0.2 is now a bigger animal than
Sierra was ready for?
I'm guessing sierra.com can support 1.1.0.2 since I saw it with patch 7.
I'm guessing sierra.com cannot support the additions made by Project
Wildfire yet. That I have not seen yet.
All of the above is strictly speculation. I'm just a consumer wondering the
same thing you are. i.e. Whats up with the Papy Patch?
This is the way multiplayer on sierra is going to work from what I've read.

Are you serious? This could be terrible news for NR2003 multiplayer users.
On any given Friday night, there might be 160 racers in the lobby looking
for pickup races at peek times. There might be a dozen or so races with 30+
car fields for a cup race type simularion. Now with cup and bgn, these 160
racers can only see a partial listing of the races? There might be only
half a dozen races filling up in each series? There will be some degree of
switching back and forth between active series looking for a good race?
Will it be a single lobby? i.e. still 160 racers? If so, the advertising
of races with chat messages will be more common? When trucks and TransAm
are added, it will get even worse?
Games like moh:aa, battlefield 1942, counterstrike, etc have thousands of
participants worldwide. Finding a good match is easy. I don't think we
need to make it any harder to find a good pick-up race with NR2003? No need
to fragment the users? Am I the only one that is thinking a re-design is
needed here? We need a single race scheduler. We need to see all the races
as they are filling up. We need the scheduler to switch our game to the
proper active series to match the race we select.
Was this discussed as the Project Wildfire and Patch 1.1.0.0 efforts merged
into 1.1.0.2?
Your questions and comments are excellent, but what would motivate Papy or
Sierra to spend any more programming time on a non revenue producing
project? In fact, I'm wondering why Sierra keeps the race scheduler server
up at all since it's not pay to play. Wouldn't be surprised to see
onlineracin.com wind up to be the only way we get to run the additional PWF
series.

The functionality has been this way since the beginning of these mods
development, and has remained the same all the way to 1.1.0.2 patch. I dont
remember the specifics, but the series being only selectable at the main
menu prevented some potential cheats that would allow people to run physics
besides the currently selected series.
As for terrible news for multi, I just dont agree. Your getting atleast 3
new series for free all useable on line.
You'll still see everyone in the chat lobbies so its not like people won't
be able to communicate between series.
While its not a perfect way to handle things it works and gives the user
alot more content for nothing, and it certainly isn't going to be changed at
this point.

Yes, it will be workable. I agree.
Yes, as for my "this could be terrible news for NR2003 multiplayer users"
comment, I agree I could be wrong. I've been wrong before. See below...
Yes, I did not miss the fact that we are getting some additional driving fun
for FREE!
I'm just wondering how much in and out of Multiplayer we are gonna be doing
on a given Friday night to switch our active racing series.
From the multiplayer point of view, I'm just concerned that this is gonna
fragment the fields and cause racers to switch back and forth to find the
best races (large fields of the desired skill rating).
If your looking for a skill 0-10 race with 10 drivers in it, this might not
be bad news at all. There might be alot of those. More than before.
If your looking for a SW skill 5-10 race with 30 drivers in it because you
hope
to advance to SW skill 6 one day, this might be terrible news.
Multiplayer is just one part of the game, patch, and project wildfire
extensions. Skill points racing is just one part of multiplayer. There
might be a very small percentage of NR2003 multiplayer racers that are "in
the points race" of trying to advance in skill level for RC, ST, SW, and SS.
Add in the fragmentation that the *** Mode with Driving Aids might
cause after the patch comes out and it might be hard to find a full field
skill 5-10 Darlington race. That was my point. It is a very small point.
The "terrible news" comment came from this very focused multiplayer point of
view.

I suspect 2 years from now the only series still being run online will
be Trans Am.
