NASCAR/IRL Heat help needed

by J. P. Hovercraf » Tue, 11 Dec 2001 06:11:25

I've got the NASCAR Heat IRL patch running on my machine with a Voodoo 2
card. I've just added a 32 Meg AGP card that I'd like to start using for
the patch. I read the readme and added the "-1" to both the shortcut to
NASCAR Heat and IRL Heat. For NASCAR Heat, it improved the graphics
immensely. With the IRL patch, I ended up with all white cars. I
remember I had to jump through hoops to get color cars using the Voodoo
2. There was a particular patch I used, I forget what. Now I'd like to
undo that. Can anyone help?

If you're using a 32 meg card now, you need to use the 512k cars.  You may
be using the 256k cars, as white cars are a common problem if you're not
using the right carset for your video card.

Got it! The Voodoo fix simply renamed the "paint.res" file to
"paint256.res". I just named it back and voila!, it works with my new card.
