Hello,

i live in the netherlands and can not buy nascar 2002 season yet. Can anyone
tell me if there is a good damage model in n2002 ? Maybe someone has some
screenshots.

Graphically, it is pretty similar.  The physics model seems to be much
more sensitive to damage in the new version.  Also, the cars seem a
bit easier to damage, especially if you tag the wall very hard.  Much
easier to blow a tire or cause engine damage by contact.

The repair model is still the same, as far as I can tell.

Once, my crew chief informed me I had "wheel damage".  Don't know what
that really meant, and I haven't heard it since.  Maybe I dreamt it.

HTH,
Gerald

It's a shame the repair model stayed the same.  If the damage model is made
more strict for realism, then the repair model should be too.

You should be able to improve on your repairs with each pit stop, just like
the real teams do.

Lool at Junior last week.  After he blew that tire and destroyed the front
of the car, after a couple of stops he _actually_ had a decent chance at
winning that race still.  It's just a shame that the rest of the race went
to shit for him :(

Do agree it'd be nice to continue repairs in several stops.............but
Jr. had no chance of winning that race :)  As soon as he would have been in
clean air, his loss of aero would have shown even worse than the terrible
push he had in dirty air.
