I found that once I turned off steering help I had to learn how to stay on
the track all over again.  More fun with it off though, you get the feeling
you are actually in control of the car.

I actually used the auto-gear on ace in GP1 because of the anoying fact of not
being able to downshift while accelerating, i guess this is okay if you have a
wheel with two gear shift buttons.

seriously... can I use F7?. I drive by the keyboard( manual change) and found almost
impossible to drive without that help. But with F7 I can consistently do 1:43:xxx in a
qalifying lap at hockenheim. Otherwise I think maybe we can specify two or three leagues
from beginner to ace depending wich helps is approved.

Of course you can, it is a free world and GP2 is only a game. Although
it is a good sim, we are no multimillion-salary-full-time driver on
a 'career' here. The most important thing is to enjoy it and have fun.
That 'fun' factor is define by us though, someone think it SHOULD be
no help but be as 'real' as possible but I am sure you can also define
that 'fun' as driving around and feeling comfortable with it.

Why do you care?  If it doesn't hurt you or others then why do you care?
The only reason I see is if someone does like they did with 'dega (you
know rp off and  "I got a 230!!!! and if you can't you suck") if they do
that then you have every right to care.
