then I get the screen saying GTR 2002 is now loading. After 3 or 4
seconds, i'm back on the desktop. Strange...
Can the game be uninstalled and reinstalled? If so, do I need to
reinstall F1 2002 as well?
TIA. Andre

Will try to uninstall-reinstall tonight. Will let the group know if it
works or not.

But there were also Extreme Open wheel Racing mod and the CART mod
that did the same thing. I solved it by backing up the 2002 ini-file
(rename it to config.bak) and then renaming the MODs ini-file to
config.ini. All mods worked well afterwards. One major disadvantage,
If you have your mods installed in the same folder, you have to rename
the mods-ini file everytime you want to run a certain mod. But as I
have shitloads of free disk space I always make different installs for
different mods, and then rename the inis and I am set.
So indeed :
- try setting the resolution lower (800x600 e.g.)
- try setting the number of cars to 22
- check if all paths in your mods config ini are correct
- most of the mods require that you set pit crew animation to "low" !!
If none of these help you probably are stuck with an add-on car/track
that causes the system to crash, My guess would be that the Blue
Lagoon add-on track is the guilty one.
Best of luck!

I will keep emphasising this point...there is a pinned thread at Simbin
that covers in minute detail the proper steps for installing f1 2k2 and a
mod like gtr. Follow that procedure precisely.
(more snip)
I am actually spending more time
Yup...more work=less play... :)
I have at least a half dozen mods all sharing the same install of F1
2k2, all have their own config file and none need any file renaming or
swapping. You just have a separate properly named and edited config file
for whatever mod you are using and a good shortcut to launch it. I have
all my shortcuts in a folder on the desktop. three clicks and whatever mod
I choose is loading.
(snip)
It could be..heck I have never even heard of the blue lagoon track.
Guess I'd better check out the track sites again... :)
