HELP! LWFF not working right anymore :(

by Sunny Cho » Wed, 26 Jan 2000 04:00:00

My LWFF USB was working perfectly before, then I unplugged it for a few
months.

I built a new system, just hooked the LWFF up again, installed Profiler
v3.30, but now the wheel is jammed way to the left, and in the Game
Controller properties page, both the gas and brake pedal bars show red
indicating both are depressed fully, even tho they are not.

The shifters, buttons and force feedback effects still work, but I can't
get the wheel and pedals to work right in Game Controller and any games.

Can someone help with some suggestions or solutions? Its very
frustrating.

I can't find a way to recalibrate the wheel. I read on Logitech's
website of a program CLRCALIB.EXE that totally clears calibration
registry info; I wonder if I should use this facility. But before I do
so, I would like to check with this NG to see if there are alternative
ways.

Thanks for any input!

Sunny

My system:
Intel PIII450
128 MB SDRAM
MSI BxMaster mobo
Creative GeForce 256 SDR video card
Win98 SE
Logitech Wingman Formula Force USB (ID 1)
Saitek X36 joystick/throttle combo on SB Live Value game port (ID2)

Well I plug my wheel in before I boot. It automatically does the
calibration on every reboot.

I leave mine plugged in but it doesn't recalibrate when I reboot the PC.

Do you mean, when I first install the driver and profiler, and then
reboot, I should have the wheel in so it calibrates automatically?

I forgot to plug it in first after installing the profiler, and a
message came up on bootup that it couldn't find any wheel. After I
plugged it into the USB port, I went into Game Controller and it was in
there, but the wheel was already jammed to the left, as I described.

Think I'll reinstall everything again to see if it'll work. Thanks for
your input!

I forget, but there may be a checkbox to calibrate during reboot.
Some people disable this.

HELP! LWFF not working right anymore :(

I believe I've solved my problem :)

I forgot to mention I had CTFJ installed. I read CTFJ's document on
this, that there were some problems with Logitech devices, and after
trying their fix, it worked for a while but then the brake pedal got
screwed up again, so I unloaded CTFJ, and its worked great since!

Thanks anyway once again for your help!
