Dennis, I have a mystique and have no problems playing the game in DOS.
Don't run uvconfig, since your mystique is already VESA 2.0 compliant.
This will only result in an error.  I wonder if the problem lies in your
AMD chip, since it's not a true pentium (the genuine pentium chip has
certain instructions not available on the clones).

If so, you may be able to acquire a patch from AMD or Sierra.

God Bless,

Here's the problem. Since I don't have much faith that Win95 will do
much right, I install in DOS mode. Everything goes okay, and I select
my sound card and it tests okay. Then I try to run the game and it
does the Papyrus logo thing (w/ no sound) and then goes black screen
and stops completely. I thought maybe it was the videocard, so I ran
UVCONFIG.EXE. It never makes it through the test. After a couple of
seconds, it stops. I turn the monitor back on and it says -divide
error-. Please help. I was pretty hype to play this game, and I can't!

Here's my system setup.
AMD K5PR133 CPU w/ GA586S mobo
2 MB Matrox Mystique w/ 3.22 driver, 1.2 BIOS
32 MB EDO 60ns RAM
Zoltrix PnP SB compatible sound card
Reveal 4x CD-ROM

Any advice GREATLY appreciated!

Just an update on my problem. If I set the setup program to 'no
sound', th program runs. I have no irq conflicts, all my other games
run with sound just fine. Guess it just doesn't like my sound card.

Thanx

Have you tried by-passing the "opening movie"?   Just try the command
NASCAR2 and don't use the N2.BAT file.  The opening sequence only seems
to work with 100% SoundBlaster compatiable setups.  If I don't turn on
the SoundBlaster portion of my card, the movie plays fine, but no sound.
Your card maybe causing a major conflict with the movie.

Another update to my problem. The opening movie can now play sound and
runs okay. I have tried bypassing it with the Nascar2.exe command, but
same prob. It just freezes up when the game should start. And it can
still run with no sound. Pretty wierd. Guess I need to go get a real
soundblaster.

Thanx for all the help!

Make sure the soundblaster line loads from the autoexec.bat on boot up. Run
setup and autodetect the soundcard before running game. Make sure you have the
latest driver for your soundcard. If all else fails, get new soundcard!

I have seen the truth, and it makes no sense !
