All,

I just played DD2 the other day.  What a MAJOR dissapointment!

I was expecting better graphics and sound and better tracks.

The graphics were worse.  The sound sounds like an Atari 2600
is generating them.  The driving is MUCH worse and VERY hard
to handle.  The Keyboard arrows cannot be used.  There is no
way of turning ON/OFF screen options, such as clouds, texturing
and etc.

I calibrated my Joystick in Windows Control panel.  It works great
on any other Windows 95 games.  In DD2, the car goes left all by itself.

What do other think of this version?  I will defenitely stay with
DD1.

I hear ya.  I'm not going to give up on this title yet, though.  If I
can get my joypad to work under the MSDOS version, I'm keeping it.

And yes, there is a MSDOS version on my CD in the "DOS" directory,
even though the manual doesn't mention it (at least I didn't see it
anywhere).  It's much smoother than the DirectX/Win95 version, but
that's always the case with my Millennium (DOS performance runs loops
around Win95 perf).

bibbled:

The graphics aren't too bad, but they don't look as smooth and sharp
as DD1 though. Sound is, I agree, extremely crap. No realistic engine
sound at all. Tsk.

I also think the opposition is way too hard to bash.. especially on
non-bowl tracks. They, on the other hand, only have to nudge me and
I'm off on my roof.

Yep, I can't see what this is all about. The cars are just _sooooo_
twitchy.

I've got my fingers crossed for a patch to fix the joystick problem.

you totally go insain and send death mail to Pynosis, go and take a
look at the PS version, then write a letter to Pynosis or somthin and
let them know EXACALLY what yer made about. If you ask me, the should
of made the PS and PC version THE SAME! I don't understand why they
are different(game play wise, etc...), but that shouldn't be.

I couldn't agree with you more.  I really enjoyed DD1, and I had high
hopes for DD2.  I can't believe how badly they've screwed up this game!
The graphics are much poorer than DD1, the sound is terrible, and the
cars are almost impossible to control.

What are you talking about!!  DD2 is one of the best games I've ever
played.  It's a thousand times better than DD1.  The new tracks with the
jumps and stuff really kick ass.
