You just have to be more aware of the guy(s) you're following so you
can avoid setting yourself up for a wreck.

Some people also have a tendency to brake early when they're being followed.
Call it distraction, nervousness, lack of confidence, whatever.  There is also
a problem(at least in GPL) of losing the sound of your own engine because of
the other car.  In your car it sounds like you're going much faster.  As a
result, you slow down more(and sooner) than you normally would...

Then there is the situation we had at Watkins Glen.  I was ahead of Larry
and watching the car in front of me closely for braking as we were deep in
the field on the first lap of the race with a tight pack in front.  I was
watching for early braking, I also probably ( most likely) braked too hard.
