Hello,

Have you looked at the files that make up the game (tracks data, cars,
textures)? Most of them are plain text files... I've tried a few
modification to them and was able to change some textures, the shape
of the cars, and other stuff. I think that with a few editors, we can
make the game better than it is now. Because the graphic engine is
good enough.

Is an improvement of the game really worth it. The speed and behavior of
the AI cars is absolutely unrealistic. The car control of the players car
is
insufficient. I have the feeling the steering is done by the computer and
not by me! Until we can t improve this why should we care for textures.
(After all most tracks don t look so bad. Most much better than in GP2)

Of course it will remain a arcade game, but it would be fun to make it
a little more interesting to play.

With the keyboard, yes, I have that kind of impression too but it's
ok for an arcade game. I haven't tried it with a steering wheel yet,
for my T2 is being repaired at the moment.

Not only the textures could be changed. But from what I have tried
the entire car could be re-shaped. And the circuits as well.

Better in look but not the layout, believe me. I've watched so many GP
on TV and have been a lot of times to Spa-Francorchamps, 2 times at
the Nurburgring (this one is very disappointing in Power F1), and also
to the GP of France. They could have at least copied GP2 (or even
GP1!) to design the circuits. At least, Imola looks quite realistic.

There are also a few track that I'd like to race on, even in a
not-so-good driving sim: Oulton Park in England, Pau in France, Zolder
(the other real racing track in Belgium), and a lot of others.

If a was a good programmer myself, I would work on this, but a know my
limits, unfortunately.

Unfortunately I have to agree.  I bought the game and played it for 1
hour before giving up on it.  It's ok as an arcade game but not as a
simulator. What a waste of graphics though !
