I should have learned from my Wingman Force 3D.  Went defective according to
tech support's e-mails before 3 months had passed.  Advised to call Customer
Service (Canada to Las Vegas at peak times only), spent over $30 on tolls
and never got to speak to a human.

So, dummy buys a Wingman Cordless Rumblepad.  It lasted two months and
crapped out.  Tech support agreed via e-mail and guess what.  "Call Customer
Service for a return merchandise authorization."

Guess what.  The damned peripheral only cost $30 to begin with!  I won't
spend that on long distance charges, only to pay for return shipping and
hope the new one lasts more than 60 days.

There's something inherently wrong with a company that has a toll-free sales
line and charges "valued" customers to reach them if there's a concern.

Please avoid Logitech.  You won't regret it.

So what stopped you from returning it to the store where you bought it? If
nothing else they could have phoned for the RMA number to save you the
expense.

ime half of Logitech's stuff is fantastic, great build quality &
engineering, the other half is cheapo plastic & flashing lights. Just work
out which is which & you'll be fine.

Costco isn't known for their cooperation on such matters.

It's a shame about this.  I've heard good things about their wheels but once
bitten, twice shy...

I'm not looking for a third time even if it is a charm.

Sadly I think this is a common issue customers have with discount stores.

In order to get down to a price & still make a profit, something has to
suffer, and that's usually customer service.

The other end of the scale would be to pay over the odds from PC World.
You'd still get the same low grade stuff, but at least they'll be nice to
you ;-)

*Most* companies have that same model...

Here's a counter view:

A guy who races in the GPL league I am in had his Momo Racing go bad.
(Throttle and paddle shifters, I believe).  He sent it in for repair and
got a Momo FORCE as replacement.  NICE huh?
