I have a P133 with 32mb ram and a Matrox Millenium 2mb card.

With GP2 I can run VGA with all options fine.
In SVGA it is Ok with some detail off (ie sky) but I don't
think it is that good.

Question: If I went to 4mb on the Matrox card would that
improve things significantly ?

Anyone know ?

Thanks,
Ian.

I don't think the extra cost of the WRAM would justify the kind of
performance improvement in GP2, if there is any.

I have a 4MB Matrox, and running "GP2 LOG:ON" my video index is 475 on a P133.
Try running GP2 with the LOG:ON option, then after quitting GP2, take a look
at the GP2LOG.TXT file to see what's the value for you. It might not be much
different, in which case forget about adding the 2MB WRAM.

At this point (without 3D accelerator support) the amount of video RAM
makes no difference.

I've noticed turning on sky decreases the frame rate estimate by about 10
FPS on my P166 w/Matrox Millenium, so definitely turn it off until A) you
get a Pentium Pro 200+ or B) GP2 supports 3D accelerators that could easily
handle the sky textures.

I figure running on a Pentium Pro 200 you should be able to run with all
detail and get 20+ frames and run below 100% CPU usage most of the time.

Time to start saving the pennies... ;)

Well not impressed with the matrox, more Wram cost about 110.00 beans a sim up
in edmonton.ab.Ca        -RIPOFF!!!!-
And GP2?? Well frame rates is about 17.   Not real impressed.
What the hell they program these games on??
Goin back to Sega.
