yep that's about right, although I have heard of some fast lappers using a
joystick..!!

I use an MS Force Feedbanck wheel and pedals .... and I'm still slower than
most!!

Hi Alan,

I tried using a joystick for GPL.  It's tough to accellerate, brake and
shift at the same time with a joystick.  I use a T2 wheel and it
may not be what the 'fast' drivers use, but my times are satisfactory
and its realistic :-)  (Ok, some may say that having gas and brake
on the same axis isn't realistic, but that's a whole different topic.)

Jason.

I belive that top GPL drivers use joystic/pedals combo.

Get a wheel/peddal combo if you have enough (want to have) fun with GPL.
There are some nice cheap sets out there (ACTlabs, TM, ...) or a bit more

expensive ones (TSW, M$ FF, ECCI,HYPERSTIMULATOR).

More $$$ you spend, better controller you'll get (probably)  :o)

Btw. I'm using GP1 wheel hooked up with T2 peddals (+ PDPI L4 gamecard
from this weekend
on) :o)

I think you will find *most* people who like driving sims have a wheel
and pedals. But there are exceptions, and some *very* quick drivers
use just a joystick on its own, or a mixture of joystick and pedals.
