I myself have been killed at the chicane at Monaco, the sharp turn after the
long straight at Nurburgring, running side by side at Talladega and then flying
through the wall, drafting at Texas and then forgetting to brake or move, and I
have Barrel rolled at Road America.

I always seem to wrap myself around that tree, oh dear, I'm going to have to
remember 'Ring corners now, uh, Fuchsr?hre... you know, you go up the hill,
careful not to bottom out, forget to brake and storm around the corner right
into that tree. Always happens on my outlap. Usually makes me decide to
try for that 8:37 lap TOMORROW.
Many, many times, though, I have killed those idiots standing on the outside
of the exit of Eau Rouge in Spa. They keep coming back! Urgh.
-Laurens de Jong, The Netherlands.
Oh and I've run over more of those idiot spectators at the very edge of the
track more times than i care to mention.
Chris
Recently I killed myself a lot practicing the Ring for the IGPLC-F3 race
yesterday. There is this damned tree in Ardenauer-Forst (sp?) and also
coming under that bridge in the lefthander at Tiergarten after the long
straight I have this habit of putting my car right in the fence. The little
bridge before the small karrusel in the righthander after the little straight
have also caused some situations that might be fatal.
The Ring..... Definately

An honorable mention goes to the big stone house on the exit of the Masta
Kink. It's the industrial powered hoover of trackside objects if you're
really going for a fast one. Nothing quite matches that hairy moment where
you've put two wheels off, then know you've gone to far and smack it at
square on.
Honorable mention goes to Rally Championship (just to stray a little) for
those moments that make you duck down. I sometimes lose concentration on
the co-driver, and this usually results in some air time and a quick end
against a very unyielding oak tree. Shame the damage modelling isn't a
little less forgiving; my small reptile brain would like to see that Impreza
wrapped around the pole, just to make me a little more careful the next
time.

Nurburgring - especially that bush on the right hand side of the very
fast left-hander under the bridge after the long, long straight
(Antoniusbusche?). I long for the day I can edit the track and get rid of
it!
Spa - like a lot of other people, the Masta Kink. They must have built
the houses well in those days:-)
Rouen - the trees at the left hand side of the flat-out lefthander.
..and numerous other resting places...

Braking from fifth soon after the billboard on the left, shifting to
fourth, modulating the brake pressure as going over the crest, to third,
more brake pressure again and into the lower section of the steeply
banked corner, went a bit more sideways than hoped for, clawing in all
futility for traction as the rears get over the top of the crown,
catching air, and, agin, BLAM, into the fence.
You've been there before and you know it!
