I went to their message site and had to laugh at what I saw. So many people
writing about what they want and expect from the program can be read in post
after post. But the West Bros site does not really contain much information
that gives a clue to their program even is. From what I have so far seen,
there is nothing being told to the public that warrants the postings being
make at their message site. I do hope that some program developer comes
along and raises the bar for race simulations but I doubt it will be the
West Bros, at least from what I have read so far. (And I do wish that they
would prove me wrong).

I remember when I was very young spending time at my grandmother's home.
There might be three of us kids there raising noise but grandmother always
knew how to get us quiet. She would give us a big thick Sears catalog, a
pencil and tell us to circle what we wanted for Christmas. This would keep
us busy and quiet for a few hours. By the time Christmas came along, we
would forget all about our time spent circling toys in the Sears catalog.
Just as well, we weren't going to get them anyway. This sort of reminds me
of the messages I read at the West Bros site. Everyone "circling" what they
want from post to post but so far, there is no evidence that they are going
to get anything. (If this West Bros thing doesn't work out, I'll die if I
find my grandmother was behind the whole farce).

Good post

They all went through the WSC episode for over 2 years and yet it is all
being repeated with a different name and they follow again.

Nothing being said now is any different or more encouraging than was said
about WSC if the veneer is stripped away.

If a game/sim is released then we make a choice when the time comes.

Here they see no demo or screenies for RL but they still believe 100% it
exists.

What do you have for the 3 years you have waited so far....?

Wait and see by all means, stranger things have happened.

Go back and read it again. Here is the text from the second sentance.

<snip>
This is a temporary solution, as we await the fully blown, fully featured
site
</snip>

This site opened on friday and the Wests stated that they will be clarifying
things in more detail from monday onwards, when they return. Let's give the
guys a break and see what is delivered before we start casting aspersions in
either direction.

They have simply opened a public forum for WRL discussions. People will post
what they will, and people will speculate in the same way that you do here

MS

So what have you read? Maybe it might be an idea to qualify this statement.

the west bro's would be well served to keep their mouths shut this time,
leave us alone, and release a product when they have one.

Yes, that was what I was thinking. I hope they put out a great program and I
would be first in line to purchase it. But the way they are presenting what
little they must presently have, it just doesn't seem very professional. In
other words, is this the same kind of thinking and effort that will also
make its way to the program, if indeed it is ever created and finished? Best
to just wait and see. (God, I hope Roger Squires likes this post).

I don't think this will cut it for RL.  There isn't a guaranteed large
market for the game, so they are depending on us to invest in their risky
project, with the hope its potential (and their promises) will be realized
over time.

I agree - there isn't much info yet.

The time to get e***d about this product is when we start seeing lots
of e***d reports from beta testers along with some cool screenshots.

Or for the even more sceptical members of this community, when they
actually release a demo that shows the promise of the full product.

This is *terrible* :(

There are people acting like a**holes on "Both sides of the fence"

Some names that I've generally respected have shown themselves in a bad
light over this, Ok everyone's human, but FFS everyone get a goddamned grip!

Both those that are sceptical and those that have fervant belief have good
points, no 'one side' is right or wrong, you all have justifiable (in some
cases) arguments, but this kind of sillyness is not needed, desirable or
grown-up, so grow up.

Take it to the f**king track, take it to email, or just go take a flying
f**k, there, now I've vented, kthxbye.

Vennt.

Great post and spot on!

So that was what that was all about at my Grandma's house.
