GPL RANK Progress

After having shelved GPL for about 6 months and reformatting my harddrive I
decided to have a go at GPL Rank.

Reaquainting myself with GPL was like starting all over, I had lost all mty
setups and best times. I thought I should be able to get close in my first
attempt but did a lowly -101 on my first night back. I ranked 532 out of
570. Not a very good start. I quickly checked at which tracks I could make
the most progress and decided to try  a couple of tracks a day.
Here is my progress
day 1 -101 rank 532
day2 -88.74 rank 512
day 3 -65.68 rank 470
day 4 -59.44 rank 462
day 5 -54.95 rank 455
day 6 -50.83 rank 447

I am somewhat pleased with my progress considering the  amount of entries
which have been added in the last 6 days. However I really have to put a day
into the ring to bring my handicap down another 25 seconds to my old PB of
820.
I won't stop until I reach the milestone of zero, so hopefully I can achieve
that by month end.

Anyone with good Eagle, Cooper or Ferrari setups please send em my way. I
refuse to use the Lotus as I feel that that car has a distinct advantage
over the others and I want to EARN my spot.

Take Care

Hey Tony, glad to hear your finding it motivating. I get almost all my setups
here:

You already know they are good for a world record time, all you have to do is
figure out how to drive them.

What makes you think the Lotus has an advantage?
That thinking means that the only car you can ever use is the Cooper since
all other cars have an advantage over that one (i.e. it's the slowest)!!??!!
So all of us that are driving the Lotus did not earn our spots?  Try telling
that to 90% of all the drivers on GPLRank!!!
People choose the Lotus because on almost all tracks it is the fastest car
POTENTIALLY.  Make no mistake, G Huttu et al can lap in all other cars
(except the Cooper) faster than most of us can in the Lotus!

Do you perhaps mean that you cannot drive the Lotus =)

Actually the BRM is the slowest, but the difference in cars is small
compared to the difference in drivers. Check out BRM master Jochen
Fr?mel on GPLRank, -31.72 and EVERY time is in the BRM. Most people
couldn't touch him with a turbo on their Lotus.

Well, I think the BRM is faster than the Cooper on the faster circuits like
Monza and Spa because of it's better top speed but sure is a *** to drive
on the other twisty circuits. Jochen is damn amazing in his BRM on all
tracks though! :)

I agree, most of my times are in the Cooper (Coventry), and it just can't
compete with all the Lotus drivers, so I'm forced to switch to the Eagle.
It would take months to get the same times with the Cooper that I can get
right now with the Eagle/Lotus.
