Interact V4 Force Feedback Racing Wheel

by Zen » Fri, 28 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Is there anybody out there using it besides me? I am an avide GPL racer. The
settings I use in the core ini are :

force_feedback_damping = 9940.000000
force_feedback_latency = 0.085000
max_steering_torque = 9225.000000

I am no fully satisfied either with these settings or the wheel. For
example, I can't get my time down at Monza, below 1.31. A big part of this
is my talent as a driver, but I am starting to believe it has something to
do with the wheel itself. Too big a neutral zone, not enough precision in
the steering, same for the pedals, etc...

Any comments?

I don't know if this helps but I have the same wheel and I have left the
settings at:

force_feedback_damping = 40.000000
force_feedback_latency = 0.085000
max_steering_torque = 525.000000

It feels ok to me.

I have one and really like it.  Here are my settings:

force_feedback_damping = 40.000000
force_feedback_latency = 0.085000
max_steering_torque = 225.000000

Pretty big difference.  I don't see that big of a neutral zone on my
end, but you are much faster than I am.  On the pedals, are your pots
ok?  I've never changed or even cleaned mine, and they are beginning
to bounce slightly.

Thanks!

I've just tried these settings, and I have a way better (fine) response from
the car. Hitting the barriers (yip, that happen's!) is not as ***, but I
can do without.

I now need to translate that into speed.
