Hahahaa :-)  When I tried Grand Turismo 2/3/whatever, I immediately ran Laguna
Seca for the same reason.  It was the only track I actually knew.  Funny how
you never forget the track :-)

Who Remembers ICR2 ?

I remember thinking while playing Bill Elliott Nascar Challenge how long
would it take before we got a realistic racing sim.  I much preferred Mario
Andretti's racing challenge on the KB ;)

Wasnt it two floppies?

Mitch

Well it appears that some people hated it, but most people remember it as a
great piece of software for its Day.
I am glad that I got people talking about a great little title.
If it were playable on the net I am sure that there would still be groups
doing so today.

I forget, did it have dial up dual player mode?  Seems it had a connections
option.

Sure wish we could get an updated version of it :-)

It had 2 player via Modem or serial cable.
I remember playing for hours using a 9600 modem with no warping at all.
Even till this day, the Papyrus multiplayer engine has not been been beaten.
Look at the Nascar Series, which I am not particularly fond of, but is
capable of some great racing against 20 or so opponents, with very little
warping, over dial up. Same can be said for GPL.
Other titles like F1C struggle with 4 or 5 players over Cable. It has Still
got me beat how they do it.
I agree, that an updated version using the road circuits would be heaven.
The Ovals make me dizzy. :-)
I know it is almost impossible, but one day I would love to hear:
I'm Paul Page, from Papyrus ...........
This is Indy Car Racing 3

Man, O, Man...have I been waiting for this thread.

I don't know about most of you, but I still have ICR2 installed under WinXP.
There hasn't been another Indy (excuse me, CART) Sim like it since it came
out.  Now that I think about it, it was last called Cart Racing.

Still a great game.
