GP3 Graphics calibration problem

by Peter Wedlak » Wed, 10 Oct 2001 18:08:38

Hi

I have recently installed a Geforce2 mx400 into my AMD800 and have been having
problems with the graphics calibration of GP3.

When I start the game it asks to calibrate the graphics card which it does, if I
then use the resolution it gives me the PO runs at about 800% and the framerate
is about 1FPS also I have a small rear view just below the steering wheel,
totally unusable. The only way around this is to reboot the PC and ignore the
request for graphics calibration and just make a educated guess. The game then
runs Ok.

Any Ideas what's happening ?

Cheers
Pete

Pete,

I've seen similar behavior with FSAA turned on with my GF2 - GP3 doesn't
have what one would call an "advanced" 3D engine, and it hates FSAA with a
vengence.  Not sure what's up with the odd rear view, though.

If that's not it, I'm afraid I'm stumped  ;^)

I have an MX400 and GP3 asks for calibration every time I run it even if I
let it complete and save the settings.  My old TNT2 didn't have any such
problems (not really a problem - just an annoyance)

I have the exact same thing on my GF2MX. I just ignore the
request to calibrate - the game still runs like greased
lightning...  ^_^

hmm...just noticed that if I use the "proper" drivers for my video card, it
doesn't do it - it's only when I use the nVidia reference drivers that it
plays up.  Strange because the card uses an nVidia reference video BIOS.
