and there doesnt seem to be a change coming in the near future. I think its
great when a minority gets into racing whether its just as a spectator or racer.
As a marketeer by profession, I can tell you why you dont see a jerri curl car in
nascar. The corporate "fat cats" are smart enough to know what their customers
like. they watch soul train and a basketball game on sunday. hence, the
corporate "fat cats" wisely put theor advertising dollar where it should be.
Though it was a different time and and a much smaller Nascar, Wendell Scott(an
afro-american) won in Nascar and raced for several years with promising results
in the earily sixties.. He had support from Ned Jarrett and several other
drivers. If that man could get a victory in the sixites when racial tension was
a its peak in this country(in the South no less), then a black driver w/ talent
and deternination can do it in the 21 century.
