It's not just R.A.S.

Regarding the split of the UK pits, it's not just R.A.S. that's
suffering from an abundance of arseholes, have a look at any newsgroup,
especially rec.games.computer.games.quake.
For some reason, there appear to be more bitter people looking for a bit
of attention by posting stupid articles, trying to invoke replies.

Why is this happening ???
Probably because the the net is more accessible to idiots and it's no
longer the domain of those that have a genuine interest in the
newgroups.
It's great that more people are on-line, but wouldn't it be better if
they could stick to groups such as
alt.I've.got.a.personality.problem
or
alt.my.***age.hormones.are.doing.weird.things.to.me

Sorry to see this happening to the UK pits, but it must be hard work
putting the thing together on a constant basis.
Take it as a complement that people are copying your ideas/good work and
spreading the word, it's down to your success!

To the arseholes, get a life, get a spell checker and chill out, life's
too short. Feel free to reply to this post and automatically invite
yourself to my kill file (ask a grown-up what a kill file is).

I think it's simpler than that. It's summertime in North America.
Millions of kids with too much time on their hands. Worse yet it's
late summer, so they're getting bored with themselves. Probably
driving the parents nuts, so they stick 'em on the computer.

Give it a couple of weeks, it should ease up once school starts in 2-3
weeks.
