Not sure if this is the answer to the original poster or not.. The
Volume of the engine wave file could be drowning out the other sounds.
Just open the engine wave file with Windows defaulted sound editing
application (can't remember what it's called) and lower the volume of the
wave file. Then see if you can hear the other sounds.
