On Saturday, driving it was all he could do as opposed to racing it, it was
misfiring terribly and looked to be going slower than the Formula Junior
cars. Not much of a spectacle, much better when he drove the Audi saloon
with some lucky **** who'd one a competition to sit in the passenger seat.

It was chassis 103, and was used only once by Gurney in the Canadian GP.
Otherwise it was raced by Ginther or Scarfiotti.

:>  Asking around I think it was in fact hte Ginther/McLaren Eagle -
:>though it did have TGurney's name painted on it curiously.

Thanks for the info Steve - are you sure it wasn't the same vehicle
McLaren raced?  Grand Prix who's who (second edition) doesn't give
Chassis nos but does say "in 1967... Bruce was glad to race Gurney's
second Eagle after Ginther's sudden retirement".  (Though the book lists
McLaren's vehicle as "Eagle T1G102-Weslake v12" which I can't find
anywhere else - oh for a reference with chassis nos)

Yes, chassis 102 was McLarens car, which he drove in France, Britain, and
Germany, retiring on each occasion. And I have just found that Gurney took
over 103 from Ginther at Monaco when Ginther failed to qualify.

: There was also a 67 Ferrari 312 there, but that was a static display in the
: paddock only :(

: Strange, it didn't have the silly mirrors you have in GPL, but sensible
: ones.

: I got some piccies of it, and in the process on doing my website to put them
: up on.

Love to see them - tho someone else told me it was actually a '68
Ferrari (very similar).  Somehow I missed that.
