NASCAR Heat patches

Whats the correct patches, as well as order, for patching NASCAR Heat for
use with the mods? I see over at BHMS they have a 1.7 patch. Should I
install this or skip it for the mods?

Thanks

    hehe ME again.
First go to the uspits and grab the multipatch-nocd.  This will install the
first 3 patches all at once and create the run folder needed for the nocd
and mods to work.  THEN dload the updated 1.72e Final patch.  They released
v 1.71e but that had a new feature that wrecked the ai so it was removed
with 1.72e.    There is also a test patch called Zippy that is still being
used, it is basically the test mule for the 1.7 patches but does lack a few
features.    You can get Jan's multi patch at:
http://theuspits.com/fbody/tptcc/files.html
and blackhole motorsports has the updated final patch.
As far as USING the latest patch...it's not necessary if you  only run
offline.  But if you want to check out the newest mods like the upcomming
DTM based TPTCC mod http://tptcc.com/ or Ced's just released GTP mod,
http://www.sntracing.com/porrs/ then you will have to at least install the
Zippy patch since some of the larger tracks won't load without it.  If you
have an online group you run with, find out which patch they have installed.

Just to be clear..if I put in the 1.72e I am all set for the new mods?  Or
should I use the "Zippy"?  (Don't play online--but do at least try most of the
new mods..)..

One more question...my install was done using the original and then the three
1.5x patches...if I just patch to 1.72e am I good for the new stuff?

There is a feature that was only in the first patch...so we ALWAYS
recomend to install all the patches.  Jan's Multipatch really made that part
simple.   You can use EITHER Zippy or 1.72e  both have the fix that allows
the longer more detailed tracks...  Our league is gonna use Zippy cuz we
know it works online and everyone has it...but I'm sure most folks(who still
run Heat that is) will go right to 1.72e.
Some mods to try would be the V8 supercars...very fast... the F 2000 open
wheelers, very slow but you can carve turns like you won't beleive.   DTM is
going to be redone within a week or two so I'd avoid that for now since
there never was an installer made for it...a new fully automatic TPTCC/DTM
mod should be out shortly.   There is a Cart mod...the Brisca Heat guys have
dirt tracking down...Have fun...

thanks for the DTM tip. I have not been impresses with the dirt based mods.
I think the problem with the dirt mods is the car physics are tweaked to
make a car on pavement to feel like a car on dirt. Instead of adjusting the
actual track surface itself (if thats even possible).

I quick tried the GTP mod last night (about 2 laps). I have never been that
fast at the Glen before. :)
