Track Conversion Mutterings

I have just downloaded the track converter for GPL from the US Pits
(ICR2/NR99 > GPL).  Though I only got Hickory and The Glen to work it was
quite interesting to compare the tracks to what they are like in NR99.

Does anyone know if there are any plans by anybody to convert the
Nurburgring from GPL to NR99/N3 or ICR2?  It would be pretty cool to take
the V8's round the ring, as long as we remember to turn off Pace Lap and
yellow flags (or the race might last considerably longer than the rest of
most of our lives) :)

There is, but I don't expect something soon for that.  It's very
complicated.  Somehow think that the track need to be "cloned", and such a
long track takes much more time than anybody can imagine ;-)

I know some people would give anything for the Nurburgring on the old game
engine, so email the guys at BB&B and push them to continue, well anybody
you know that does track editing !! ;-)

Fran?ois, I've a very good memory. (Nah, I haven't, I use pieces of
paper). You're not forgetting your claim to do the Ring below 8
minutes in a stockcar, don't you? <g>

Hehehe yes you do have a good memory or an accurate set of notes ;-)

I made a bet with somebody that whenever the Ring track is released I could
lap the Ring with a Stock-car under 8minutes.  Speculations of course, but
I've thought alot about it and I do think it's possible from the laptimes I
do with other sims or the GPL track for N2.  Im a natural touring-car
driver, thus Im not really excellent (but still above-average) in GPL.  I
get smoked by people like you there, still !!

Now I have no idea about how people would lap the Ring in Icr2.  It's a
fairly tight-corner track but heck why not say : 6minute laps ;-)

8 minutes with a stock car? hahahahaha!

Forget it, man, and do sensible things.

And, I forgot: May the funk be with you!

Not even divine intervention can get you around Nurburging with a Stock car in
less than 8 minutes.

You don't drive bricks around Nrburgring. The lorries should be kept on the
highways.
