I cant get the patch to run with my Orchid voodoo2. It ran fine with my
Orchid voodoo1. It won't even start up now. Just kicks me back to windows.
Any suggestions/answers please?
Thanks,
Brent

the *.exe utility will be different for the orchid, but this may help you:
Chris,
Sorry I did not get back to you sooner... haven't been keeping up with the
NG very well lately.
I have a Pure3D II, it works *great* except for the 3DFX-NROS "race exit"
bug (which is a TEN/Papy issue). Here's what I did....
* For TEN, install the NROS 3DFX Beta Game Enabler (nros3dfxzip.exe)
* Copy p3d2util.exe to your "c:\sierra\nascar2\" subdirectory. This is
supposed to be only for the TV out, but apparently it fixes some other
problems as well.
* Make sure glide2x.dll and glide2x.ovl are in your "c:\sierra\nascar2\"
subdirectory
* Be sure to run gns3dfx.exe/nas3dfx.exe and nros3dfx.exe from within a
"bat" file, from "Start/Run", or from an icon (.pif). Note: they will not
run properly when run from a DOS prompt and are inconsistent if you run the
executable directly.
* Add the following lines to your autoexec.bat or the "bat" file you are
using to run gns3dfx.exe/nas3dfx.exe or nros3dfx.exe. If you put them in
the "bat" file you are using to run the sim, be sure these lines appear
before the sim executable.
c:\sierra\nascar2\p3d2util.exe
set n2fxaa=2
set n2fxload=0X1000000
* Right click your on your desktop, select properties, select the Pure3D II
tab, click Advanced..., make sure "Wait for V-Sync" and "Override SST
commands" are checked.
Hope this helps! If not let me know, and I'll work with you to figure out
what's different. BTW, I called Canopus when I installed my Pure3D II, they
where extremely helpful and patient with me (I tend to ask a lot of
questions).
Good luck,
