NASCAR Racing 2 Demo - More .02 - ATTN ED AND ADAM!! AND EVERYONE!!

Hello Ed,  Adam,  everyone,

I have asked this question over and over and over again,  and haven't gotten a response,
have you all found the system REQUIREMENTS for NASCAR Racing 2 and it's Demo?

Also,  I'm still very confused,  is the Demo File 18MB RAM or 18MB Hard Drive Space?

BTW Ed and Adam,  if you both use a Java Enhanced browser I'm developing a chatroom for
my SimRacing Web Site SimSpeed,  this way you can actually speak and answer questions and things.

Currently Adam stated the Demo was 18MB (as in hard drive space).  This is
probably the self extracting archive, so the actual size of the demo after
installation could be significantly larger.  The main problem is that it
will take forever to download this over a slow connection (i.e. modems).
Some people don't mind the time it would take to download it, but
unfortunately we'd be clogging up the ftp server keeping others out.  The
ideal situation is for a user with a fast connection to get the demo
initially and then upload it to a few mirror sites to spread it out for the
rest of us to get.

Keep in mind the delay in release is because Papyrus is still working to
get the demo smaller.  After all, if Allen Clarke can get the original 127
meg demo of Syndicate Wars down to about 20 megs, I'm sure Papyrus can trim
the 18megs down to something more feasible to distribute.

Drive Space?

Drive >Space?

Hey Mark,
Sorry, I know I have answered these questions before, but, the game
requirements are not set in stone yet, they can still change, so I am
leary (especially given the recent demo flack) to "set them in stone" at
this point.  I can tell you that the demo requires a Pentium (as it is
high res only) with 16MB of RAM.  The final product will support a 486
66mhz in low res only.

That was 18MB of Hard drive space.  That's all been taken care off and the
demo should be online soon.

Adam,

How will an AMD 586/133 chip clocked at 160Mhz do? Diamond PCI
card and 16Mb RAM?

Just curious...

ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!! :)
And after wading through all these posts about the demo now I find out
it won't run on my 486-66 w/16Mg ram :(
Oh well, I was gonna buy a p200 soon anyway <G>
Keep up the good W, and hang in there.

That last sentence is very disappointing.  One of the things that
I've been looking forward to in N2 is the ability to run in SVGA
with a decent frame rate, like I can with ICR2 but can't with N1.

You sure that a 100 or 120MHz 486 won't be able to handle SVGA with
most details off?

Actually, with most detail off it probably will work.  But, I really don't
consider it acceptable to say to people, yea, you can run it fine, but
then have to say, with all the graphics off.

I dwnloaded the demo this morning at work and it was 8M.  When unpacked
it was about 18. Unfortunately it came with the 94 cars. I'm going to
try it on my machine at home later today because my machine at work is
only a 486/66 and the readme calls for a pentium with 16M of ram.

I need to know...I have a Cyrix P150+ computer with 16 Megs of ram
when NC2 Comes out in November/december....will I get to play it>
After the trouble with NC2 Demo and Cyrix Cpus...I'd hate that the one
game I want to buy this year will have to be passed up.
