Just wondering...

What are people getting for framerates in GPL with systems similar to either
of the following?


64 MB SDRAM
6.4 GB HD
Diamond Stealth II S220 Rendition 4MB
16-bit SoundBlaster Clone (Doubles as gameport)
Abit BH6 motherboard
34+ FPS all the time, 640X480, most options on

Matrox Millenium G200 8MB
3dFX Voodoo2 1000 12MB
SB AWE64 value
Asus P2B motherboard
34+ FPS most of the time, except on grid / near pits, 25+ FPS, 640X480, most

Average GPL Framerates?

Your numbers look perfectly average from what Iv'e seen in the last year of
GPL.


testing/building switching from an awe 64 to the live value added several fps.
There was also a marked improvement from a 4meg to 8meg thriller.

I have got a Celery 300A o/c'ed to 450, with a Thriller 8Mb (rendition), and it
pumps out rock steady 36 fps with ALL graphics on and 800x600. Even during
starts and Nouveau Monde (you know, the hairpin at the bottom of Rouen).

And I have a digital joystick port (PDPI) and a PCI soundcard (cheapo SB PCI64).
Same MB as you do, BH6.

The Thriller is THE graphcis card for GPL, unfortunately it isn't particularly
fast with anything else. But I use my computer 95% of the time for GPL, so I am
pretty happy with my combo...

I got similar system but Hercules 3D 8Mb and playing 800x600 with all on (but
antialiasing) I get 36fps costanly in solo mode and 30-31fps at the back of
the grid and "might" drop to 24fps for 1 sec in the 1st corner. After that
solid 36fps.

I was actually kinda hoping for framerates for the one with the V2 :)

But I'm also glad that my $30 Stealth II is still somewhat up to pace :)
