Momo and F1RC

by SpeedFree » Mon, 26 Nov 2001 00:19:41

Ok, I think I have ironed out most of my issues between the Momo wheel and
GPL.

So I started on F1RC and there are real problems there.
The FF pulls the wheel to the right, progressively, at all times except when
I am stationary. The FF forces feel good, but this constant pull to the
right makes the game unplayable.
If I turn the centering spring on, lo and behold, the pull to the right goes
away totally. But so do all the "inertia" spring forces. I get no feeling of
what the car is doing, all i get is rumble over the kerbs and on the grass
and when I hit things. I.e. no USEFUL forces...

I looked on the forum at wingmanteam but couldn't see any solutions.

Anyone here having problems with the Logi Momo wheel and F1RC??

Thanks in advance..
Lol SpeedFreek.

Yeah uninstall F1RC (: - I am sick of waiting for a patch - buy F1 2001 and
with the patch and the  MOMO it is great.

However since we have both invested our hard earned dollars in F1RC - let me
re-install it and try it out.

What OS are you running ?

Are you running the Beta 5 of the MOMO software ?

Are you running any updates to F1RC or do you have 3rd party add-ons?

I will report back

Dont reinstall it on MY account!! Its not that big a deal. (GPL is my main
interest)

For anyone who has it installed already...

Im running Win98
Momo beta 5
DirectX8.1
No updates to F1RC apart from graphics updates.

FF pulls to the right with centering forces off. With them on, it doesnt
pull, but doesnt do any spring forces, only rumbles over kerbs etc.

Can you tell us something about your settings for the MOMO wheel in GPL?

I use the settings mentioned in the readme of the beta file. Set your
total forces in windows to 100% and spring strength to 0, centering
spring OFF. Works perfect for me, but the 'perfect' settings vary a
bit for each system.

Right now Im using these settings...
Game controllers:-
overall 100%
spring 100%
damper 25%

Core.ini
Force 200
Lat  0.001
Damping 20.0

Im still fiddling with the damper settings in both game controllers and the
core.ini though..

Been at 0% for the last week... just changed the spring setting to 100% to
see how it affected the damping.. I'm liking what I'm feeling!

Ok, that's the most important thing.. but I think the spring muffles
the more subtle ff forces..
